Technical Services Veterinarian - St. Louis

We have an outstanding opportunity for a veterinarian to work for a leading Animal Health company in a technical services capacity. In this role you will support the sales team through the education and training of sales professionals within the region.  You will also serve as the liaison  between the company and colleges and universities; conduct dinner presentations; and represent the company at trade shows and other industry events.   This position works closely with the director of Technical Sales, Director of Marketing and Directors of Sales

Minimum qualifications include a DVM, 5-8 years of experience in clinical practice, academia, research or industry and excellent interpersonal and communications skills (industry experience preferred). Also Advanced nutritional training helpful, but not required. • Internal Medicine Training required. • Strong relationships in the pet specialty, breeder or veterinary community required (as evidenced by participation and leadership roles in associations, and/or experience in the veterinary academic lecturing circuit). This position requires up to 60% overnight travel.

Technical Services Veterinarian (DVM) - 

We have an outstanding opportunity for a veterinarian to work as a Technical Services Veterinarian for a large international company. This position is responsible for ensuring that optimal husbandry and health care are provided for the pets sold at hundreds of retail stores, beginning with the vendor facilities, during transportation, at the distribution centers, retail stores and ultimately by the consumers. This will be achieved by ensuring that adequate information, products and supplies are provided to the vendors, associates and to the customers.  In this role you will support stores on issues related to live animal health care, perform vendor audits of live animal suppliers, help educate the business with regard to the health risks associated with live pets, interact with buying team to ensure overall animal health and quality.  Other responsibilities include creating metrics and tracking improvement progress, interfacing with vendors to help resolve live animal health issues, writing protocols for pet care at the store level, writing pet care guides for pet parents, working with corporate regarding education of pet parents and to help ensure state and government laws are met related to live animals. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) or Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificate of Veterinary Accreditation by the USDA in order to inspect USDA facilities and write health certificates. Medical License (if not already licensed, applicant must be able to obtain the state license within a reasonable period of time).

Director of Technical Services - Companion Animal Products 

 
This individual will oversee and direct all veterinary medical functions for Companion Animal to maximize return on investment and profit.  The incumbent is responsible for receiving, recording, investigating, resolving, analyzing and reporting of complaints for all animal health products distributed by our client in the US.
 
This individual will lead and direct the veterinary technical services team.  They will provide the staff with coaching, training and career development opportunities to maximize the potential of each individual, build teamwork and problem solving skills.  They will provide technical support for Sales and Marketing and will work closely with Product Managers and Regional Sales managers. This includes input and advice on marketing plans and strategies, conduct of post-approval clinical studies, review and approval of product advertisement and promotions, scientific presentations to customers and technical product training of the sales force. Other responsibilities include overseeing pharmacovigilance of all animal health products distributed in the US and assuring that all product complaints are processed according to company guidelines and government regulations.  Will work closely with R&D and regulatory affairs to assure proper filing with regulatory authorities. Also, will provide veterinary medical expertise to management and all departments and will represent the US in the Global Technical Services team.  In addition will represent the company to the veterinary medical community and will build and maintain relations to veterinary medical associations, industrial committees, other professional organizations, universities, key opinion leaders, etc. Will be involved in budgets and project planning.
 
Qualifications:  This positions requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and five to ten years of clinical experience or its equivalent and five to ten years of experience in commercial operations within the veterinary pharmaceutical industry.  A post-doctor degree and/or board certification in a specialty area is desirable. Excellent communication, management and organizations skills are necessary.  Particular experience in the areas of training and motivation of others is desirable. The incumbent must be a problem solver and have knowledge in formulation of field trial protocols.
